Osun firstlady, Mrs Titi Adeleke flags off distribution of palliatives, medical aid for aged people

In her quest to ensure aged people in Osun live a better and healthy life, the Osun State Firstlady, Chief Mrs. Titilola Adeleke, has flagged off the distribution of food palliatives and medical aid for elderly people. The event which was organized by the Office of the First Lady in collaboration with ANGY CARE Health Foundation and Osun State Ministry of Health, was launched at the State General Hospital, Cottage Area, Ede. Ilobu/Ifon/Erin-Osun Crises: Response team on emergency works to secure better camps for displaced persons

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Emergency Management, Hon. Emiola Fakeye, has led the Emergency Response Team to Ifon Osun, Ilobu, and Erin-Osun to assess the camps suggested by the traditional rulers of the three communities. The emergency response team included representatives from the Department of State Services (DSS), health practitioners from the Ministry of Health, the Osun State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Osun Health Insurance Scheme, the Red Cross Society, the Hospitals Management Board, Osun State Emergency Management Agency (OSEMA), the Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) of each community and other stakeholders. The Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has distributed food items, including bags of rice, beans, and gari to the residents of Ilobu, Ifon, and Erin Osun communities through the traditional rulers. This initiative aims to provide relief to the affected residents currently under a 24-hour curfew due to the ongoing communal crisis. It will be recalled that Governor Adeleke had earlier visited these communities to assess the impact of the imposed curfew and ordered the immediate distribution of food items to alleviate the residents' hardships. NEMA, OSEMA Conduct Assessment and Verification Exercise in Ilaa-Ijesa

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), in collaboration with the Osun State Emergency Management Agency (OSEMA), has carried out an assessment and verification exercise in Ilaa Ijesa to evaluate the impact of a recent windstorm that struck Atakunmosa West Local Government Area. Leading the delegation, NEMA’s Assistant Zonal Coordinator, Mr. Olarewaju Kazeem, expressed sympathy to His Royal Majesty, Oba David Ojarotade, and the residents of Ilaa Ijesa over the unfortunate incident. He stressed the need for preventive measures against climate change, such as tree planting and reducing unnecessary deforestation, to help mitigate future windstorm disasters.
