Osun Governor, Adeleke distributes food items to Ilobu, Ifon & Erin-Osun Communities to cushion the communal crises effect
The Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has distributed food items, including bags of rice, beans, and gari to the residents of Ilobu, Ifon, and Erin Osun communities through the traditional rulers. This initiative aims to provide relief to the affected residents currently under a 24-hour curfew due to the ongoing communal crisis.
It will be recalled that Governor Adeleke had earlier visited these communities to assess the impact of the imposed curfew and ordered the immediate distribution of food items to alleviate the residents' hardships.
The distribution was carried out through the Osun State Emergency Management Agency (OSEMA).
Speaking at the distribution exercise, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Emergency Management, Hon. Emiola Fakeye, represented by the General Manager of OSEMA, Mr. Abiola Oni, announced that the Governor provided:
• 50 bags of rice
• 50 bags of beans
• 50 bags of gari
for each of the three communities.
Mr. Oni urged the affected communities to embrace peace, emphasizing the Governor’s belief that development thrives in an atmosphere of peace and stability.
In their separate votes of thanks, community leaders expressed deep appreciation for the Governor’s intervention:
High Chief Ashiru Jimoh, the Bara of Ilobu, thanked Governor Adeleke for his generosity and prayed for divine blessings upon him.
Chief Salawu Moruf, the Sobaloju of Ifon Orolu Kingdom, who received the items on behalf of Ifon residents, commended the Governor for his kindness.
Mr. Kayode Olawale, representing Erin Osun, expressed gratitude for the relief efforts and prayed for the continuity of such humanitarian gestures.
The distribution exercise was witnessed by security agencies, representatives of the Red Cross, and OSEMA staff.
