Jubilation in Makkah as Governor Adeleke showers cash gifts on Osun pilgrims



....Commends their love,prayers, support for his administration 

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola  Adeleke, has expressed satisfaction with the conduct of all Osun pilgrims currently performing this years Hajj in the holy land of Makkah and Madinah .

Accordingly in line with his earlier made pledge to make their stay in the holy lands conducive and comfortable, Governor Adeleke doled out a cash gift of 100 Saudi Riyals  each to all the 980 Osun State pilgrims currently in Makkah for the 2026 Hajj exercise. The gesture was born out of,fulfilling a promise he had made to the state's pilgrim contingent before their departure for Saudi Arabia.

The distribution took place on Saturday at Osun State Pilgrims House in Makkah,where the State Amir'l Hajj and Chairman of the Osun State Muslim Pilgrims' Welfare Board,Sheikh Dr. Abdul Maruf Olawale Ishola, addressed the pilgrims on behalf of the governor. 

Governor Adeleke who appreciated the spiritual and moral resilience, perseverance and and spiritual candour of both male and female pilgrims ,further described the financial gesture as a deliberate effort to provide financial support to the pilgrims as they prepare for a return journey to Nigeria.

Governor Adeleke particularly expressed joy and satisfaction regarding series of reports reaching him back home in Osun,Nigeria that none of the 980 contingent to this years Hajj from the State of the Living Spring has been found violating any of the rules  of Hajj operations as outlined by the Saudi Arabian Government. 

Governor Adeleke ,however, urged the pilgrims to pray for his success in the forthcoming August 15th Governorship election ,the people of  Osun State and Nigeria, particularly for divine intervention in addressing the country's numerous challenges, with special emphasis on insecurity. 

"Regardless of human efforts at tackling insecurity, prayer remains the most potent weapon against the menace that has continued to hamper national development,"he said.

Governor Adeleke reassured the pilgrims of his administration's continued commitment to their welfare and that of all residents of Osun State.

He commended the State Amir'l Hajj, Sheikh (Dr.)Abdul Maruf Olawale Ishola and members of Osun State Pilgrims Welfare Board including the Administrative Secretary of the Board,Mr Muritata Fakunle  for their  tireless efforts in ensuring the success of this year's Hajj operations,.

Responding,Sheikh  Ishola expressed profound gratitude to Governor Adeleke for his unwavering support, which he said significantly contributed to the smooth conduct of this year's Hajj.

In their show of gratitude for the monetary gifts, the pilgrims took turn ,one after the other to pray for the success of the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke and in particular, the success of his re-election bid for a second term in office ,come 15th August, 2026.
