From the hitherto N8,784,085.59 payment made by each pilgrim from the state during the last 2025 hajj exercise, the Osun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has officially announced N7,991,200.00 as the newly approved Hajj fare per pilgrim for 2026.

The Executive Secretary of the Board, Muritala Fakunle made this known in a statement made available to newsmen.

Fakunle said the reduction in fare  was sequel to a downward review by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria          (NAHCON) which put the new fare for Osun  at N7,991,141.76.

The Secretary of the Board who described the development as a cheering news, however, implored all intending Muslim pilgrims from the state to make their payments before the December 5, 2025 slated by the Board officially as deadline for complete payment in order to facilitate timely remittance to NAHCON.

In the same vein, Fakunle assured some of the pilgrims who had paid amounts that  exceeded the reviewed fare that their overpayments would be promptly refunded.

Concerning the coming hajj operations, he reaffirmed the Board's commitment to rigorously assess the health status of all pilgrims by the Osun state government-approved medical team in order to make the coming 2026 Hajj far better than the previous ones.

He expressed profound appreciation to the administration of Senator Ademola Adeleke for its unwavering support over the years to the Board and its pilgrims, which according to him, has been instrumental to making previous Hajj exercises good and eventful for Osun  state pilgrims while performing the annual religious exercise in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
