Eid-El-Kabir: Adeleke Preaches Peace, Unity Ahead of Osun Governorship Election

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, today joined Muslim faithful at the Eid praying ground in Ede for the observance of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir prayers, where he called for peace, unity, and harmony among residents across the state.
Speaking shortly after the prayers, the governor appealed to Muslims and the people of Osun State to sustain peaceful coexistence as the state prepares for the August 15 governorship election. He stressed that peace remains essential for the continued development and stability of the state.
Governor Adeleke also urged residents to continue offering prayers for his administration, particularly during the forthcoming gubernatorial election period. He stressed that divine support and collective goodwill are necessary for the government to continue delivering democratic dividends to the people.
The governor further appealed for continued support from citizens, assuring them that his administration remains committed to improving infrastructure, welfare, and other sectors that directly impact the lives of residents across the State.
In his welcome address, Chairman of the Ede Muslim Council, Dr. Musbau Idris, commended Governor Adeleke for what he described as visible developmental strides in the state. He noted that the administration’s efforts have positively influenced the lives of many residents.
Dr. Idris also emphasized the importance of peaceful coexistence within society, urging residents to avoid actions capable of causing division or conflict. He encouraged people to embrace love, tolerance, and mutual understanding in their daily interactions.
The Muslim leader further praised the governor for providing a new Eid praying ground for Muslims in Ede, describing the gesture as a significant contribution to the Muslim community and religious development in the area.
Delivering the Eid sermon, Chief Imam of Edeland, Sheikh Moshood Akajewole, urged Muslim faithful and residents to uphold peace, love, and mutual respect at all times.
The Eid-el-Kabir celebration attracted government officials, traditional rulers, Muslim faithful, and members of the public from Ede and neighbouring communities.
