It was an exciting moment as Christian and Muslim clerics in Osun State converged on the Government House in Oke-Fia, Osogbo, for a special prayer and thanksgiving programme organised to celebrate the 66th birthday of Governor Ademola Adeleke. The colourful gathering brought together religious leaders, political associates, government officials, and supporters from different parts of the state.

The event was marked by spiritual activities, songs of thanksgiving, scriptural exhortations, and goodwill messages offered in honour of the governor. Guests at the programme prayed for God’s guidance, protection, and wisdom for the Osun State governor as he continues to pilot the affairs of the state.

Speaking during the programme, Prophet P.F. Owa and his Islamic counterpart, Sheu Akani Olorunlomerue described Governor Adeleke as a peaceful and people-oriented leader whose administration has continued to promote unity and development across Osun State. They noted that the governor’s style of governance has strengthened harmony among residents irrespective of political or religious affiliations.

The duo commended Governor Adeleke for his commitment to the welfare of the people. They offered prayers for continued peace, economic growth, and progress in the state, while asking for divine strength and direction for the governor in the discharge of his responsibilities.

The clerics further prayed for the success of Governor Adeleke’s administration and sought divine favour ahead of the forthcoming gubernatorial election scheduled for August 15 this year. They expressed optimism that Osun State would continue to witness development and stability under his leadership.

Delivering a sermon from Psalm 116:1, Bishop James Bamidele stressed the importance of thanksgiving and appreciation to God. He urged the celebrant to remain grateful to God for His blessings and continue to praise Him throughout his lifetime.

In his remarks, Governor Adeleke appreciated the clerics and residents of the state for their unwavering support, prayers, and goodwill toward his administration. He said the encouragement from the people has continued to inspire him to do more in delivering dividends of democracy across the state.

The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to implementing more developmental projects and people-oriented programmes aimed at improving the standard of living of residents.
