Workers Day 2026: ASUP/NASU OSCO-HEALTH Ilesa Chapter Set for Fierce Battle in Novelty Football Match


.....as team captains, Ayo Ogungbe, Taiwo Ajayi promises thrilling encounter


As part of activities marking the 2026 Worker's Day celebrations, the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics(ASUP) and the Non Academic Staff Union(NASU), Osun State College of Health Technology, Ilesa Chapters will tomorrow trade tackles in a friendly football match.

Both teams will lock horns at the football pitch of the College by 10 in the morning with the College Provost, Dr Lateef Olarewaju Raheem expected to perform the official kick-off of the game.

This is contained in Memo signed by the Registrar of the institution, Mr Moshood Afolabi and made available to newsmen in Ilesa on Wednesday.

Some of the players for NASU include: Moshood Afolabi, Olaleye Olayinka, Kareem Imran, Adewale Adebayo, Ojolo Olusegun, Olabisi Olusegun, Mathew Adepoju, Sulaiman Erinjogunola, Segun Babatunde among others, while the ASUP team is made of Rasheed Kolawole, Olayemi Bello, Muftau Bello, Sunday Adebayo, Musibau Adebiyi, Simeon Adenrele, Jide Falola, Nasiru Omoniyi, Micheal Rotimi, Joseph Ojesola among others.

The ASUP Chairman, Comrade Ayo Ogungbe is expected to lead his team while his counterpart, the NASU Chairman, Engr. Ajayi Taiwo will lead the NASU team to the much talked about and anticipated encounter.

Speaking shortly after their training sessions, captains of both teams, Ayo Ogungbe and Ajayi Taiwo both promised spectators of a thrilling game of football, stressing that both teams are star studded and are ready to play.

Meanwhile, spectators and fans are hoping that the game will live up to its billing as both teams are determined to win the game which is expected to be watched by a mammoth crowed including the Provost and students of the institution.
