The Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Osun State chapter, Comrade Christopher Arapasopo, has affirmed that workers across the state are fully prepared to support Governor Ademola Adeleke in sustaining peace, progress, and development.
Arapasopo made this declaration during a courtesy visit to staff of the Ministry of Information and Public Enlightenment at the State Secretariat, Abere, where he highlighted the growing confidence of workers in the current administration.
He noted that Governor Adeleke has significantly improved the welfare of workers and pensioners, stressing that the administration has elevated Osun State beyond expectations. According to him, such progress must be maintained through continuity in leadership.
The labour leader therefore urged workers in the state to back the governor’s bid for a second term, emphasizing that their collective support is crucial for ongoing development initiatives.
In his remarks, the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi, commended labour leaders for their unwavering support for the present administration, describing their stance as principled and in the best interest of the state.
Alimi stated that despite opportunities to act otherwise, labour leaders chose to remain truthful and aligned with the government, demonstrating solidarity with Governor Adeleke’s vision for Osun.
He offered prayers for continued blessings upon the workforce and encouraged stronger collaboration between workers and the state government moving forward.
The commissioner also described Governor Adeleke as a God-fearing leader committed to ensuring that workers’ welfare remains a top priority, adding that the administration has consistently demonstrated generosity, including financial support to local governments despite political challenges.
He concluded by assuring workers that their support would not be taken for granted, reiterating the government’s commitment to prioritizing their welfare, while a representative of the Joint Negotiating Council described Governor Adeleke as “an angel in human form.”
