Adeleke Launches "Imole" Second -Term Campaign Council Ahead of Osun Polls

Governor Ademola Adeleke has formally inaugurated the “Imole” Campaign Council as part of preparations for his second-term bid in the forthcoming August 15 governorship election in Osun State. The event, held at the Accord Party Secretariat in Osogbo, marked a significant step in the state’s political calendar.
Addressing party faithful and supporters at the inauguration, Adeleke expressed gratitude for his victory in the 2022 election, attributing his success to divine grace. He voiced confidence in securing re-election in 2026, declaring his belief that the electorate would once again renew his mandate.
The governor charged members of the newly formed campaign council to work tirelessly toward ensuring victory at the polls. He emphasized the importance of unity, dedication, and strategic engagement with voters across the state.
Speaking on behalf of the council, Director General Akogun Lere Oyewumi called on youths and media practitioners to actively promote the administration’s achievements. He stressed that the campaign would be anchored on the governor’s performance and developmental strides since assuming office.
Oyewumi further urged council members to intensify their mobilization efforts, noting that collective commitment would be key to securing a decisive win. He maintained that the campaign must resonate with the people by highlighting tangible progress made under Adeleke’s leadership.
In his welcome address, Chairman of the Campaign Council, Professor Wale Oladipo, commended attendees for their support and acknowledged the conducive environment that has enabled the administration’s successes. He expressed optimism that the governor would earn a second term based on his record in office.
Several party leaders and stakeholders also delivered goodwill messages at the event. Among them were Osun PDP Chairman, Hon. Sunday Bisi; Accord Party National Secretary, Dr. Mrs. Ajaja; Senator Dr. Olu Alabi; and PDP Board of Trustees member, Mrs. Atinuke Oyawoye.
The speakers unanimously projected victory for Adeleke in the upcoming election, asserting that the campaign council is well-positioned to mobilize grassroots support. They revealed plans for statewide tours to engage voters and consolidate backing for the governor.
They also urged party members to act as ambassadors of the campaign, encouraging widespread advocacy for Adeleke’s re-election. According to them, ensuring his victory at the polls should remain a shared priority, as they described his leadership as vital to sustaining good governance in Osun State.
The committee comprises Prof. Wale Oladiipo as Chairman, Akogun Lere Oyequmi as Director General, Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment Barr. Kolapo Alimi as Deputy Director General, Prince Diran Odeyemi as a member, Mallam Olawale Rasheed as a member, Barr. Pelumi Olajemgbesi as spokesperson for the Campaign Council, Hon. Lasun Yusuf as a member, Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Teslim Igbalaye as a member, and Prince Bola Ajao as Secretary of the committee, among others.
