Osun 2026: Senate Deputy Minority Leader, Oyewumi seeks re-election of Governor Adeleke


The Deputy Minority Leader of the Senate, Senator Kamorudeen Olalere Oyewumi, has called on the people of Osun State to once again show the same love and support they demonstrated in 2022 by voting for Governor Ademola Adeleke for re-election under the Accord.

According to Senator Oyewumi while speaking with journalists, he urged Osun residents to re-elect Governor Adeleke for a second term in the forthcoming August 15th Governorship election, stating that "One good term deserves another" and praising his performance since he assumed the office.

The Deputy Minority Leader of the Senate cited Governor Adeleke's "Tremendous achievements" and consistency in service delivery as reasons he deserved to continue in office.

Senator Oyewumi appealed to the entire Osun residents to vote massively for Governor Adeleke, calling him a "Working machine" who deserved a second term, adding that, "By doing so, we will reaffirm our confidence in his leadership and ensure the continuity of the progress, peace, and sustained economic development currently being experienced across Osun State.

‎"Three years ago, I had the honour of presenting my Certificate of Return to the People’s Governor of Osun State and my leader, Ademola Adeleke, after receiving it from the Independent National Electoral Commission at the International Conference Centre Abuja.

"That moment symbolized the trust and mandate given to us by the good people of Osun State. Since then, Governor Adeleke has continued to demonstrate purposeful leadership and an unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people, fulfilling his campaign promises through people-centered policies, infrastructure development, and initiatives that are improving the lives of citizens across the state".

Senator Oyewumi praised Governor Adeleke for "the good work" he is doing towards delivering dividends of good governance to the people of the state, adding that without any equivocation, the Governor deserved re-election.

The High Chief Oyewumi added further that, "the tremendous achievements Osun recorded within a short period under Adeleke's first term needs to continue as he has been very wonderful. Mr Governor has been consistent in terms of service delivery to the people of Osun. You are focused. One good term you're doing deserves another term", Senator Oyewumi was quoted as saying.
