Adeleke sympathizes with Osogbo rainstorm victims, pledges collaboration with NEMA for relief

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has expressed sympathy with victims of the recent rainstorm in Osogbo, particularly families of the deceased and those currently receiving treatment in hospitals.

The Governor, who spoke through his deputy, Kola Adewusi, led a government delegation to assess the extent of damage caused by the storm across affected communities in Osogbo.

During the visit, Prince Adewusi conveyed the Governor’s heartfelt condolences to the victims and assured them of government support, stressing that efforts were underway to bring relief and restore hope to those impacted by the incident.
He further disclosed that the state government would collaborate with relevant federal agencies, especially the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), through the Osun State Emergency Management Agency (OSEMA), to provide immediate assistance to affected residents.

The government delegation visited several impacted areas, including Osogbo Grammar School, Yetunde Awoniga area, Sabo, Ansarudeen Central Mosque, Baruwa area, Oke-Fia, Alekunwodo, and the Osun State University Teaching Hospital.

The Deputy Governor and his team also paid a condolence visit to the family of the deceased and visited injured victims receiving treatment at the hospital, where prayers were offered for the repose of the departed soul and speedy recovery of the injured.
Speaking on behalf of the bereaved family, Alhaji Irewole appreciated the state government for the visit and show of concern during their time of grief.

Members of the delegation included the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Hon .Kolapo Alimi; Commissioner for Environment,Hon  Mayowa Adejoorin; Commissioner for Tourism, Hon Abiodun Bankole Ojo; Commissioner for Rural Development, Hon. Ganiyu Olaoluwa; Special Adviser on Emergency Management, Hon Emiola Fakeye; Special Adviser on Water Sanitation, Hon. Oyeboade Oyewale Afolabi; and the General Manager of OSEMA, Mrs. Olubukola Aderibigbe, among others.
