Adeleke Flags-off major road rehabilitation drive in Modakeke

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has officially flagged off the rehabilitation of several key roads in Modakeke, marking a significant step in his administration’s infrastructure development agenda. The projects include Gbalefefe, Omi Igbin, Koola, Asabi Way, Famia Road, as well as spot patching along the Itasin–Famia Junction in Oke Bode.

The flag-off ceremony, held at Famia Road in Modakeke, attracted government officials, traditional leaders, and residents of the community. 

Speaking at the event, Governor Adeleke reiterated his commitment to fulfilling the promises he made during his election campaign, emphasizing that governance must prioritize the welfare and development of the people.

He noted that his administration has already delivered numerous infrastructural projects across the state, particularly in Modakeke, where several roads have been constructed or rehabilitated. According to him, "these efforts are part of a broader strategy to improve connectivity and boost economic activities within the region".

The Governor assured residents that his government would continue to extend development projects to all parts of Osun State, stressing that no community would be left behind. He described the ongoing road works as a testament to his administration’s dedication to inclusive growth.

Adeleke also used the occasion to call for continued support from the people of Modakeke, urging them to sustain their cooperation with his government, just as he expressed confidence that ongoing and future projects would further enhance the quality of life for residents.

In his remarks, the Ogunsua of Modakeke, Oba Joseph Olubiyi Toriola, commended the Governor for his commitment to the development of the town, acknowledging the visible impact of the administration’s projects and expressed appreciation for the attention given to Modakeke.

Providing further details, the Director of Highways, Engr. Moroof Ojebode, disclosed that the first phase of the rehabilitation work is expected to be completed within four months, adding that additional roads, including Itaasin/Famia Road and Iraye to Ondo Road, would also be rehabilitated.

Earlier, in his address of welcome, Commissioner for Transportation, Hon. Sesan Oyedele, praised Governor Adeleke for granting prompt approval for the projects and thanked the residents for their support.

After the ceremony, the governor proceeded to Ile-Ife, where he inspected the ongoing construction of an overhead bridge, another major infrastructure project under his administration. The visit underscored his hands-on approach to monitoring projects across the state.
