Dr. Igbalaye gave the commendation during a Citizens’ Town Hall Meeting on strengthening primary healthcare services in Osun State. The programme was organised by the Osun State Primary Health Care Development Board in collaboration with the National Primary Health Care Development Agency.
The event, held at GMT Hall, brought together nursing mothers, pregnant women, caregivers, market women, religious and community leaders, traditional rulers, and health experts to deliberate on improving healthcare facilities and service delivery across the state.
Represented by the Director of Health Planning and Research, Dr. Lukuman Adeleke, the Executive Secretary noted that all focal primary healthcare centres across the state had been renovated, equipped with pipe-borne water, solar power, and other essential amenities to enhance service delivery. He urged residents to take ownership of the facilities and ensure their proper maintenance.
Also speaking, the Citizens’ Engagement Consultant for the Centre for Communication and Social Impact, Dr. Oluwatoyin Afachung, highlighted the vital roles of community stakeholders in advancing primary healthcare.
