Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has formally announced the Accord Party as his new political platform, declaring his intention to seek re-election for a second term in office. The announcement marks a significant shift in the state’s political landscape ahead of the 2026 governorship election.

Speaking at the declaration event held at Banquet Hall, Government house, Osogbo, where national and state leaders of the Accord Party gathered to receive the governor into the party’s fold, Governor Adeleke expressed profound gratitude to God for the opportunity to continue serving the people of Osun. He reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening welfare-driven governance and accelerating development across the state.

The governor explained that he joined the Accord Party on November 6, 2025, after extensive consultations with political stakeholders and opinion leaders, advancing that the party’s philosophy of prioritizing workers’ and citizens’ welfare aligns perfectly with his administration’s core values.

Adeleke emphasized that the welfare of the people remains central to his government’s agenda, citing ongoing investments in infrastructure, social services, and human capital development as evidence of his administration’s commitment to improving the lives of residents.

He noted that the Accord Party now stands as the vehicle through which continuity and progress will be pursued in the 2026 governorship race. He called on residents across Osun West, Osun Central, and Osun East to support the party in sustaining the development already underway.

Speaking at the event, the National Chairman of the Accord Party, Barrister Maxwell Ngbudue, described the party’s slogan as “oneness for progress,” stressing that Governor Adeleke has earned the right to return for a second term due to his unity-driven leadership and transparent governance.

Also addressing the gathering, the State Chairman of the Accord Party, Pastor Victor Akande, praised the governor’s developmental achievements across Osun, noting that his projects and policies have positively touched every zone of the state.

Present at the event were the Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi, Secretary to the state government, Alhaji Teslim Igbalaye, Chief of staff to the governor, Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye, all cabinet and non cabinet members to mention few where they all declared for Accord party.

It would be recalled that Governor Adeleke resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP on November 4, this year following the crises rocking the party.
