Tinubu appoints Uzodimma as renewed hope ambassador to drive national programme awareness

Ahead of the national launch of the Federal Government’s Ward Development Programme, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, as the Renewed Hope Ambassador.

The appointment, announced in a statement by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, also designates Uzodimma as the Director-General for Party Outreach, Engagement and Mobilisation.

With the new role, which takes immediate effect, Governor Uzodimma will collaborate with the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership and governors to promote the Tinubu administration’s policies and programmes nationwide. His responsibilities include deepening public engagement and driving strategic mobilisation across all levels of the party.

As Renewed Hope Ambassador, the Imo State Governor, who also chairs the Progressive Governors Forum is expected to enhance harmony and inclusiveness within the party structure. He will work closely with APC governors, who will equally serve as Ambassadors of Hope in their respective states.

President Tinubu charged Uzodimma and other ambassadors to publicise the achievements of the APC-led government since 2023, reinforcing the message of Renewed Hope across the country.

The President noted that his reform agenda, initiated upon assuming office in May 2023, has begun to yield meaningful results for the Nigerian economy.

According to the Presidency, inflation has declined for seven consecutive months to 16.05 per cent as of October, while the foreign exchange market has stabilised. Nigeria’s external reserves have also risen to over $46 billion, up from the $32 billion and a net reserve of $4 billion inherited in 2023.

The administration further highlighted renewed investor confidence, with rising Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), portfolio inflows, and a booming stock market. The government’s economic diversification efforts, especially in solid minerals, and reforms in education and passport processing, were also listed among key milestones.

President Tinubu therefore urged Uzodimma to ensure that Nigerians are fully informed about these achievements, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to delivering tangible benefits under the Renewed Hope agenda.
