The rank and file of workers in Osun State Local Government Service Commission have been charged to make punctuality their watchword in reporting for duty in their various duty posts.

The Permanent Secretary in the Commission, Mr.Mudashiru Oyedeji gave the charge in a meeting he, and the management team, held with the entire staff of the Commission.

Mr Oyedeji, who agreed that lateness is common among some staff in Agencies of Government, posited that with imbued commitment and determination, the plague of lateness to work could be eradicated.

While crediting  Osun State Government for leaving no stone unturned to satisfy workers' needs, the accounting officer in the Commission advised the staff to endeavor to reciprocate the good gestures of the prevailing administration with enhanced productivity.

At the meeting, the Permanent Secretary, who expressed his belief in bottom-top approach of administration, sought the workers' input on how to advance the course of the Agency.

He requested that such suggestions should be passed across to the authority, through various Heads of Department and Unit Heads, for management deliberation and consideration.

He further counselled workers to be creative and innovative in their approach to their duties with a view to adding values to the establishment.

Speaking separately, two  members of the management team, Messrs Sola Sonibare,   and Makinde Kareem were unanimous in their appeal for absolute support and loyalty to the leadership of the Commission for continued corporate success.

It would be recalled that in a recent circular, emanating from the office of the Head of Service, the State Government had expressed dismay over the issue of lateness to work or complete absenteeism, among some civil servants.
