Odeniyi urges Kajola-Ijesa traders to support Adeleke's administration through prompt tax payment
...Assures community of government’s continued commitment to development

The Special Adviser to the Osun State Governor on Public Enlightenment, Hon. Eniola Odeniyi, has called on traders in Kajola-Ijesa market to reciprocate the good gestures of Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration by paying their taxes and levies promptly. He said this would enable the government to continue delivering democratic dividends to the people across the state.
Hon. Odeniyi made the appeal during a public sensitisation rally held at Kajola-Ijesa market along Osogbo/Ilesa road. The event was organised by the Department of Grassroots and Public Enlightenment under the Ministry of Information and Public Enlightenment.
Highlighting some of the notable achievements of Governor Adeleke’s administration within the last three years, Odeniyi commended the governor for prioritising workers’ welfare through regular payment of salaries and other entitlements. He listed other achievements, including road construction and rehabilitation, school renovation, and the provision of critical infrastructure across the state.
He assured the people that Governor Adeleke’s administration would not renege on its promises and would continue to pursue programmes and policies aimed at improving the lives of citizens at all levels.
Corroborating Odeniyi’s remarks, the Iyaloja General and Iyalode of Kajola-Ijesa, Chief (Mrs) Mary Oyebode, urged traders to remain supportive of the Adeleke administration. She affirmed that the governor means well for the people of Osun and pledged the unwavering support of Kajola-Ijesa traders to ensure the continuity of his developmental strides beyond 2026.
Other market leaders, including Mrs Habitat Bamidele, Mrs Odelola Olabisi, and Mrs Rashedat Ajala, also spoke at the rally. They presented a list of requests to the state government, urging the provision of boreholes, POS machines, and solar lights, among other amenities, to improve the market environment and boost business activities.
Earlier, the Public Enlightenment Team paid an unscheduled visit to the traditional ruler of Kajola-Ijesa, Oba Aderibigbe Okunade-Omirin. The monarch commended Governor Adeleke for officially presenting him with the staff of office in 2024, ten years after his installation as a full Oba, a gesture he described as a testament to Adeleke’s fairness and commitment to justice.
Oba Okunade-Omirin, however, appealed to the government to intervene in the ongoing crisis within the community, saying efforts to restore peace had been unsuccessful. He also requested the provision of a public toilet and waste bins for the market to prevent the outbreak of diseases.
In response, Hon. Odeniyi promised to convey the monarch’s message to Governor Adeleke, assuring that the governor remains a leader with a passion for the welfare of his people. He added that traders and residents of Kajola-Ijesa would soon witness a new dawn of progress and development.
The Special Adviser was accompanied by the Director of Grassroots and Public Enlightenment, Mr Raphael Ojo; the Director of Social Mobilisation and Strategy, Mr Segun Oyeniyi; and other officials of the ministry.
