Beware of antics of enemies of progress, Osun LGSC boss warns staff

Local Government staff in Osun State have been implored to be wary of the distractive antics of enemies of progress in the State
This advise was given by the Chairman ,Osun State Local Government Service Commission, Hon. Tunji Adeleke (Jnr.) while superintending the distribution of promotion letters to eligible staff in the year 2025 promotion exercise.
Hon Tunji Adeleke observed that in recent times, the media space has been awashed with provocative news intended to cause chaos with a view to stalling the wind of progress blowing across the State.
While appreciating the entire local government staff for heeding the stay at home order of the State NULGE leadership, in view of the logjam in the council areas, the Chairman advised them to continue to be law-abiding, prophesying that proverbial light would soon shine at the end of the tunnel.
In his speech, Commissioner 1, LGSC,Hon. Jimoh Adetoro who appreciated the staff for their support to the current administration, went sacerdotal in his heartfelt prayers for the staff, who thronged the Local Government Service Commission Hall, Abere to collect their well deserved promotion letters.
Hon. Adesina Alaran, the Commissioner 2 , appreciated the staff for standing by the directive of NULGE leadership without which, he observed, things would have gone awry.
The Permanent Secretary in the Commission, Mr M.O. Oyedeji, who also appreciated the staff for their patience and resilience, for almost eight months, asserted that the only recognized NULGE leadership in the State is the one led by Comrade Nathaniel Ogungbangbe.
With regards to the issue of staff audit, the LGSC Scribe, clarified that nobody has the authority to call for such exercise other than the Local Government Service Commission.
With regards to local government financial autonomy, the Permanent Secretary stated: " The law that grants local government financial autonomy does not extend to local government administrative authonomy ", advancing that whatever has to do with local government administration falls within the purview of the State Government.
He, however , warned those who are not signatories to local government accounts not to allow anybody to use them to perpetrate illegality.
The Forum Head of HLAs in the State, Comrade,( Dr) Adewale Adedapo, who also spoke at the occasion, appreciated the staff for their continued endurance, assuring that the local government service would soon enjoy a new lease of life.
Authoritative source disclosed that over 2,000 eligible officers, from all cadres and departments, collected their year 2025 promotion letters, which is scheduled to take financial effect from November 1, 2025.
The newly-elevated officers were all in high mood, appreciating Governor Ademola Adeleke for his approval of promotion, as and when due, since his inception, and promising to reciprocate his humane gesture.
