Adeleke seeks stronger digital innovation to drive economic growth

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has called for stronger investment in digital infrastructure and technological innovation to drive inclusive economic growth and create more employment opportunities in Nigeria.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 21st International Conference and Exhibition on Power and Telecommunications (ICEPT 2025), organised by the Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (NIEEE) in Osogbo, the governor said power and telecommunications remain key pillars of modern economic development.

Represented by the Commissioner for Water Resources, Hon. Sunday Oroniyi, Governor Adeleke stated that his administration is committed to expanding energy access, modernising infrastructure, promoting digital inclusiveness, and creating an enabling environment that will attract both local and foreign investors to Osun State.

He described electrical and electronic engineers as “nation builders” whose work powers industries, strengthens communication networks and connects critical sectors such as health, education and governance.

The governor commended NIEEE for its leadership role in shaping the power and telecom sectors and urged participants to use the conference to generate actionable strategies that will enhance Nigeria’s energy security, technological advancement and job creation.

Earlier, the President and Chairman in Council of NIEEE lauded the Osun State Government for hosting the event and reiterated the institute’s commitment to supporting national development through innovation.
