Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has unveiled the Imole Business Empowerment Scheme, distributing business registration certificates, Point of Sale (POS) machines, and startup grants to 2,000 women and youths across the state.

The event, held at the Staff Development Centre, behind the State Secretariat in Abeere, drew a large turnout of beneficiaries, government officials, and stakeholders in the empowerment sector.

Governor Adeleke, in his address, said the scheme is part of his administration’s strategic plan to reduce unemployment and poverty by equipping citizens with essential tools and capital for business growth. He emphasized that economic empowerment remains a cornerstone of his government’s development agenda.
He further noted that supporting small-scale entrepreneurs with financial assistance and digital business tools such as POS machines would not only raise individual incomes but also stimulate grassroots economic activities across Osun State.

Reiterating his administration’s commitment to commercial sector growth, the governor assured that his policies would continue to center on empowering the people for self-reliance and sustainability.

In his welcome address, the Commissioner for Cooperative and Empowerment, Hon. Bayo Ogungbangbe, praised Governor Adeleke’s vision of prioritizing women and youth empowerment. He described the initiative as a practical solution to the pressing economic needs of citizens and a pathway to sustainable livelihoods.
Ogungbangbe highlighted that the issuance of business registration certificates would provide formal recognition, unlock access to financial services, and expand opportunities for beneficiaries to scale their businesses in line with modern economic standards.
Excited beneficiaries who received their grants and POS machines expressed gratitude to the governor, pledging to utilize the support effectively to grow their businesses and contribute to Osun’s economic progress.
