OSSG Trains Technical College Teachers on Modern Teaching Methods


....urges then to embrace digital teaching skills

Teachers of Technical Colleges in Osun State have been urged to embrace digital training skills in an effort to improve vocational education and help their students be at par with their colleagues all over the world.

These were the submission of all stakeholders at the opening ceremony of a 10 day training workshop organised by Osun State government in collaboration with  IHS Nigeria Limited.

Declaring the training open, Commissioner for Education, Hon. Dipo Eluwole said Adeleke led administration is doing its best to ensure that teachers are being well trained to deliver a 21st century education standard to all students. 

Speaking further at the workshop tagged 'Osun Teacher-Shift' the Commissioner said the world is embracing digital style of teaching,therefore ,it is important for teachers especially those in the technical colleges to be well trained and equipped with the knowledge needed to achieve this goal. 

Also speaking the Special Adviser to the Governor on Technical and Vocational Education, Hon. Dapo Ademola-Adeshina while appreciating IHS Towers for collaborating with Osun State government , said the the training seeks to bridge the gap between theoretical instruction and practically based teaching.

Hon. Dapo said, at the end of the training, teachers would have been impacted with industry relevant skills, tools and mindset required in the 21st century in addition to equipping  teachers with modern strategies and methodologies for effective delivery of technical and vocational education. 

While admonishing participants to see the training as an opportunity to be better teachers, he said the training would help to promote a culture of innovation, entrepreneur and self reliance amongst students. 

Also speaking the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Mr. Murtala Jimoh charged the participants to take the opportunity positively in order to improve their teaching skills and embrace the shift in education as digital education is now  the order of the day.

In her keynote address the Director, Sustainability, IHS Nigeria Limited Mrs. Titilope Oguntuga said IHS Towers at the end of the training for all the Technical and Vocational colleges will be equipped with routers and subscription for teaching and learning activities in the schools..
