...Releases Subvention Funds to Boost Operations
The Osun State Government has reiterated its commitment to supporting Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and orphanage homes across the state by releasing subvention funds and awarding certificates of recognition.
In what is described as a groundbreaking initiative, the government, through the Ministry of Women Affairs, Children and Social Welfare, disbursed the funds to acknowledge and strengthen the work of organizations dedicated to caring for children, women, and other vulnerable groups.
Speaking at the award ceremony held in the Ministry's conference room, Commissioner for Women Affairs, Children and Social Welfare, Chief (Mrs) Ayobola Awolowo, emphasized that the initiative aligns with Governor Ademola Adeleke’s focus on inclusive governance and social welfare.
She praised caregivers, volunteers, and social workers for their selfless service, expressing deep appreciation for their commitment to humanity. The Commissioner also thanked Governor Adeleke for approving the funds, noting that it marks a significant milestone in the state's support for social welfare.
Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Abimbola Babatunde, echoed the Commissioner’s remarks, applauding the governor’s continued support. She described the gesture as a recognition of the vital role NGOs and orphanages play in uplifting the lives of children and the less privileged.
