OSCO-HEALTH, Ilesa: Key to Osun, Nigeria's Health Tech Advancement - Education Commissioner
The Osun State Commissioner for Education, Hon. Dipo Eluwole, has described the Osun State College of Health Technology (OSCO-HEALTH), Ilesa, as a cornerstone in the ongoing transformation of the health technology sector in Osun and across Nigeria.
He emphasized that the institution plays a crucial role in achieving the broader vision of technological advancement in the health sector, a goal championed by both the federal and state governments.
Hon. Eluwole made these remarks while receiving the College's Governing Board, led by its Chairman, Hon. Abayomi Adegoke, along with the College’s management team headed by the Provost, Dr. Lateef Olarewaju Raheem, during a courtesy visit to his office.
The Commissioner reaffirmed Governor Ademola Adeleke's administration’s commitment to supporting the institution, with the aim of positioning OSCO-HEALTH as one of the premier health technology training institutions in Nigeria.
The Public Relations Officer of the Institution, Kingsley Omoyeni reported that Hon. Eluwole explained that progressive governments around the world are making strategic investments in health technology, and Osun State is determined not to be left behind. As part of ongoing development efforts, he assured the College of its inclusion in the state’s upcoming road infrastructure projects targeted at state-owned tertiary institutions.
In his address, the Governing Board Chairman, Hon. Abayomi Adegoke, reiterated the Board’s resolve to actualize Governor Adeleke’s vision for the College. He pledged to prioritize the welfare of both students and staff and also revealed plans to upgrade the institution’s status and identity for the benefit of the entire College community.
Earlier, the Provost, Dr. Lateef Olarewaju Raheem, expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Education for its sustained support. He also appealed to the Commissioner to champion the upgrade of the College to polytechnic status. According to him, this would qualify the institution to access TETFUND interventions, which it has long been eligible for.
Welcoming the visiting team, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Mr. Murtala Jimoh, appreciated the gesture and noted that such engagements will significantly support the long-term goals of the institution.

Akinjimi Sunday, as well as key members of the College management: Registrar Mr. Mushood Afolabi, Bursar Mr. Yinka Olaleye, Librarian Mrs. Kemi Ibitoye, and Director of Works, Engr. Imran Kareem
