Over 1,200 intending pilgrims from Osun State are set to participate in the 2025 Hajj, fulfilling one of the five pillars of Islam.

Speaking at a farewell ceremony held at the Public Service Central Mosque in Abere, Governor Ademola Adeleke called on the pilgrims to offer prayers for the peace, progress, and prosperity of Osun State and the success of his administration while in the holy land.

The governor prayed for the pilgrims’ safe journey, good health, and the acceptance of their spiritual obligations.
He also expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for His continued blessings upon the people of Osun and praised the Osun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board for its effective planning and coordination of this year’s pilgrimage.

Governor Adeleke commended the Muslim community in Osun for their ongoing spiritual support and reaffirmed his administration's commitment to their welfare.
During the event, he also visited the nearly completed Hajj Camp construction site, reiterating his dedication to providing better facilities for pilgrims.
In his earlier remarks, the Commissioner for Home Affairs, Hon. Rasheed Aderibigbe, thanked the governor for his unwavering support of the Hajj Board. He noted that pilgrims had already been sensitized on the guidelines and expectations in Mecca and assured that they would uphold the Omoluabi ethos and positively represent Osun State during the pilgrimage.
