LG polls: State Govt declares public holiday

Ahead of the forthcoming Local government election slated for February 22, 2025, the government of Osun State has declared Thursday 20th and Friday 21st, February a public holiday.

 A release signed by the Commissioner for Home Affairs, Hon. Rasheed Aderibigbe and made available to the newsmen noted that the purpose of declaring the two days holidays is to enable civil servants in the State travel to their respective Local Governments Areas to enable them exercise their civic duties during the polls. 

It further added that Governor Ademola Adeleke appealed to all citizen to renounce violence, bitterness, acrimony and participate in the democratic process peacefully and return to the comfort of their homes without incident.
