Osun Water Sector Organises Christmas Carol, Annual Thanksgiving Service

As part of activities marking the annual Christmas celebration, the Osun State Water Resources has held its annual Christmas Carroll and Thanksgiving programme in a funfair manner.

The colourful event held at the parking lot of the Ministry, State Secretariat, Abere had as its theme: "Prince of Peace" and it brought together every member of the Ministry and the entire Water Sector. 

Speaking at the memorable event, Commissioner for Water Resources, Hon. Sunday Oroniyi, expressed gratitude to God for His faithfulness in sustaining the water sector throughout the year, noting that the year has been a testament to God’s grace, marked by significant progress in water supply, sanitation, and infrastructure development.

He also eulogized to the state government under the leadership of Senator Ademola Adeleke for its unwavering commitment to the citizens’ welfare, acknowledging the government’s agreement to implement the minimum wage and facilitate staff promotions.

He commended the Water Sector staff for their diligence during budget preparations and extended special thanks to the Carol Committee for their time and resources in making the event a success.

Reflecting on the event’s theme, “Prince of Peace,” Hon. Oroniyi emphasized the divine peace that surpasses all understanding, encouraging attendees to harness the peace, asserting that they possess the authority to transform turbulent times into tranquility and to foster peace wherever they find themselves.
The service featured a sermon by Pastor Adebayo, who read from the book of Luke 2:8, highlighting the announcement of good tiding and urging the congregation to be bearers of positive news and to embody the spirit of the season by spreading joy and goodwill.

The event featured carol performance by the Osun State Water Sector, Bible readings, and thanksgiving, as well as farewell speech and gift presentation by the General Manager, STOWASSA, Mrs. Toyin Asaolu, who will be retiring in January, 2025.

In attendance were Special Adviser to the Governor on Ruwesa, Hon Olarewaju Odelade, Special Adviser to Governor on STOWASSA/ WRC, Princess Oyeboade Oyewale Afolabi, General Manager, Water Corporation, Engr(Mrs) Dupeola Jokotola, General Manager, STOWASSA, Mrs Toyin Asaolu, Genaral Manager, RUWESA, Mrs Ibidun Odelola, Executive Secretary, WRC, Engr lukman Rafiu just to mention but a few.
