Mr Adeshina Gboyega, the team lead of the  TCI mobilisers told newsmen that the essence of the campaign was to sensitise families on the health benefits of family planning.

Gboyega said that during the campaign, they educated women on the different methods of family planning and issue a "gold card" to any interest client to take to the nearest primary health centre.

" The campaign is about family planning. We are mobilisers for TCI.

" What we do is that we go round the town and start preaching that women should come out for family planning.

" We educate them on  the benefits of family planning and different methods available.

" We thereafter give what we called "Gold Card" to any interested clients.

"It is this card they will take to the nearest primary health centre where they will be attended to.

" Once they get to the primary health centre, the provider at the centre will educate them on the different methods available and thereafter give them the one suitable for their body", he said.

Adeshina, however, said that the campaign, which started about two years ago, had yielded positive results in the local government.

He said the campaign had recorded about 60 per cent results since the beginning of the year.

Adeshina said that some of the challenges they used to  encounter during the neighborhood campaign was the misconceptions and myths about family planning.

He, however, said that the campaign had help in convincing women that family planning do not have any negative side effects.

Gboyega appealed to couples who were yet to embrace family planning to do to enable to them to space their children and also to enjoy a healthy life  style.
