 Sunday Okunade

The Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke has again reaffirmed his commitment to the issue of climate change, just as his administration is not paying lip service to the issue of Afforestation, hence his approval to raise one hundred thousand seedlings of exotic and indigenous trees to be planted in the State to mitigate the adverse effect of climate change which is ravaging the globe, assuring them that the State is on top of the situation.

The State helmsman stated this in his office, State Secretariat Complex, Osogbo, while playing host to the Forestry Association of Nigeria.

He stressed that what the association stands for as presented by the leadership is in agreement with his policy thrust on climate change.

Governor Adeleke however pledged his total support for the association since her activities is complimenting the functionality of climate change agenda of the present administration in Osun.

Speaking earlier, the President of Forestry Association of Nigeria, Prof. Tajudeen Abiodun who led the  team on the courtesy visit commended the Governor for  his passion for climate change, thereby doing everything possible to protect the environment across the nooks and crannies of the State.

While charging everyone to take cognisance of their environment, Prof. Abiodun said climate change is a global issue which must not be taken with levity, as there can be no life without forest.
