Child Birth Control: Health Workers Urges Women to Embrace Family Planning Methods
More than sixty five percent of women in the Osun state are involved in family planning as they are now trooping out en mass to embrace family planning methods .
The family planning services provider stated this during a visit to the primary health centre.
The service provider at the Atelewo primary health care centre in Olorunda local government, Mrs Olopade Aisat stated that the number of new clients trooping out each month including the adolescent youths as increased drastically.
She said, this has reduced the mortality rate among women and adolescent youths in the state.
Mrs Olopade further revealed that Some parents are now bringing their adolescent youths to facility to take up the methods,
stressing that due to family planning methods, some of the clients with their partner said they are free from some diseases like Hepatitis, Hiv and other sexual transmitted diseases.
The health professional encouraged more women to keep visiting the facilities as government always provide commodities of family planning to the health centres.
While speaking, the Matron at Atelewo Primary Healthcare Centre, Osogbo, Mrs Fanimokun Taiwo, appreciate the concern stakeholders, the challenge initiative, for their efforts in promoting family planning in the state, as this has reduced the effect of mortality rate among women in the state and most especially among the Adolescent youths.
Mrs Fanimokun also acknowledged the state government of Osun for providing the commodities in the centres freely for the clients.
She emphasized that some clients are now coming alongside with their husband to take up the methods freely, adding that this also have encouraged more women to fully participate in taking the family planning methods.
She explained that so far there is no complaints from the client, of any side effects unlike some years past, as the quality service provider who will carried some test for clients before giving them any methods of their choice is fully prepared and on ground at the centre for the new clients.
Some of the clients at Atelewo primary healthcare centre expressed their satisfactory with the family planning intake.
They said there is a test conducted for them from the service provider before taken the methods, just as they encouraged their co women the benefits of it and explained that since they took it there is no complaints about their health.
The duo of Mrs Jubril Aminat and Mrs kudirat Amoo from Osogbo who was at the facility centre assured that since they took the family planning methods, they enjoyed their marriage, and have capacity and ability to take care of their kids.
However, another satisfied client, Mrs Ibikunle Arike, a mother of three children who was also at the facility centre said she was able to space her children conveniently, stressing that she has been able to take up methods since ten years ago after her first child delivery explaining that, whenever she is ready to get pregnant, she will just visit the primary health centre, assuring women to shun any hearsay against the family planning and go to the appropriate facilities to take up family planning methods as it doesn't affect them whenever they are ready to have another child.
